General Product Information
BEST’s exclusive Graphic Blast® engraving process enables nearly all black and white artwork and copy to be carved into most man-made materials, stone, and wood. It is ideal for tactile and Braille signs requiring raised images and can be used to both engrave and raise lettering and Braille on the same sign. It allows virtually unlimited graphics and text flexibility.
BEST has practically unlimited manufacturing capability and specializes in manufacturing custom signage that meets nearly any requirements. Our catalog features examples of many types of materials, including but not limited to, woods, metals, Corian®, tile, marble, brick, Avonite®, glass, mirror, acrylics, vinyl, and fiberglass. BEST has been manufacturing tactile and Braille (ADA compliant) signage using the Graphic Blast® process since 1978. For standard signage, BEST recommends engraved melamine plastics (MP), especially with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requiring, in many cases, raised or tactile lettering and Braille. The legibility, longevity, durability, and overall quality of melamine laminates are far superior to acrylics and photopolymers. Melamine plastics (MP) meet virtually all municipal, state and federal fire safety codes and are NEMA rated “self-extinguishing”.
