Social Responsibility

We are in the process of introducing a new Social Responsibility program at Best.

I’m thinking it should be a subset of our About Us section. Jim Gilbert suggested we look at Merrick’s section as a guide.  We will have two items in this first year.  I’d like to use some of their language – no point in recreating.  I like their Giving Back statement.  We would like to use the word Social Responsibility rather than corporate.  We will have two pillars initially – Community Support and Community Service.

Community Support

We have supported the Victim’s Advocates program in Lakewood for the past two years that is managed through the Lakewood Police Department that helps people that are coming out of a Domestic Violence situation.  We help these victims initially get back on their feet through contributions to this program.  We also support local High School programs through our local areas, Montrose High School, Olathe High School to name a couple of the school districts.  We have historically supported Boys and Girls club of Colorado as well.  Our primary focus is on education, health care and other areas of need but all local programs where we are situated.

Community Service

In 2024 we are beginning a new program and benefit to encourage our employees to also give back through the introduction of a VTO – Volunteer Time Off program where the company will support up to 8 hours annually as paid time off for employees’ favorite initiative and/or cause.
